Photography is my passion but I’m also a trained journalist with experience launching websites and magazines across the travel and technology sectors.
A BIT ABOUT ME
My career started out in magazines where I launched newsstand favourites such as Computer Arts, Advanced Photoshop and relaunched PC Format and T3. My love of tech, photography and all things creative came together when digital cameras really took off and I’ve been shooting digital images as a hobby since about 1996.
With a career move into customer magazines, I used my travel knowledge to launch titles for Virgin Trains, Virgin Holidays and Monarch Airlines’ inflight magazine. My camera and I have been fortunate enough to travel far and wide, from the jungles of Thailand to the rainforests of Australia. Over time I began honing my photography skills, taking on professional work where I can get it or selling my shots through Alamy. I count myself a lucky man. I’ve stood atop the Golan Heights as bombs rained down on Syria and ventured inside the pyramids of Giza at dawn. All the while, my camera makes sure I don’t forget a moment of it.
More recently, my interests have collided in other ways. I have spent the last year writing weekly photography and tech blogs for Jessops, managing social media for their core market, as well as editing a print mag for them. A great bunch of guys facing tough conditions on the High Street.
